From industrial usage to daily homeware.

AL-RESEARCH series is a collection that redefines the application of industrial aluminium profiles, reshaping extrusions into essential pieces of our everyday homeware.



“Misusing” the Hardware Through Observation
Hardware is designed to work functionally, its form and material are mostly clean and designed without decoration. However, through the observation of its shape, structure or user experience, some alternative possibilities could be found. By doing research and exploring aluminium profiles with different shapes, sizes and sections, we reshape them with new meanings and functions.
AL-Scented CandleWe select an 80x80mm aluminium profile with a large hollow shape as the material. By cutting it into a short length and adding a cap under it, it can be viewed alternatively as a container.

AL-Bookend
The triangle specification aluminium profile is viewed as a suitable component as the joint of two pieces of sheet metal with the right angle, thus we make it a bookend, using it as part of our daily homeware.




AL-Incense HolderWe found a 25x25 mm aluminium profile with a round hole in the centre of its section, by cutting the profile into 45 degrees, it becomes an incense holder with a steel plate which can collect the ash.
