L-House

Owned by two professors with thousands of books in their collection, we created a space surrounded by bookshelves following the grid system within the compact living area. "L" stands for library, as well as the name of the owners: the Liao family.

A Home Library Following the Grid System
Estimating the capacity of the books for the family and segmenting the bookshelves according to the grid system which even matched with the floor tiles, a house full of detail was created.

Due to its compact space, we used wooden columns, which are the support of the ceiling shelf, to divide spaces instead of walls.

To minimize the need for drilling into walls to insert wires, sockets, and switches, we organized the electrical system within the wooden columns.
